For some time now, we have been re-evaluating the strategic fit of Pointbreak Entrepreneurs in the Pointbreak Group. After careful consideration by both Pointbreak and ourselves we have reached an agreement with the shareholders of Pointbreak to buy out the majority of Pointbreak's shareholding in Pointbreak Entrepreneurs.
This strategic decision was taken to position the business as an independent, separately branded, entrepreneurial management consulting firm. Management believes this change will strengthen the focus and independence of the consulting business and align the business model with current market practice.
As a consequence Pointbreak Entrepreneurs will be rebranded to Marathon in January 2010. The attributes associated with running a marathon are closely linked to the characteristics required by entrepreneurs to be successful - words such as fitness, resilience, skills, experience, confidence, focused etc spring to mind. We therefore decided on the Marathon name as a tribute to our clients and because it embodies our approach to business development.
Marathon will continue operating from the current address and other than a name change we do not foresee any impact on our client engagements. The new website and corporate stationary will be introduced in January 2010.
Marathon's core focus areas will be:
Furthermore Marathon will have a majority shareholding in short term insurance brokerage Nuvision and a minority shareholding in brand and marketing company Sherpa.
We remain closely aligned with Pointbreak, evidenced by the minority cross shareholding that we will hold in each other.
We look forward to rolling out the brand to you in the coming months and running with you in the New Year.
Yours sincerely
