Gerhard van Noordwyk
Gerhard joined Boland Bank Ltd in 1983 where he was exposed to all aspects of banking. In 1991 he became one of the youngest managers in the bank when he was appointed Head of one of the bank's 3 Internal Audit teams. After his transfer to the bank's head office in Paarl, he was instrumental in the transformation of Internal Audit into a professional department. During his 7 years in internal audit he gained valuable experience in systems, procedures and risk analysis.
He briefly left the bank when the microloans book of the bank was sold to Unity Financial Services (now African Bank), where, as Head of Operations, he was responsible for the centralisation of operations in Pretoria. He returned to BoE Bank and was instrumental as Project Office Manager of Project PKS 2000, which revolutionised the manner in which the bank would do business in future. In 2004 he was part of the management team responsible for migrating all BoE Bank clients' accounts from the BoE IT platform to the Nedbank IT platform.
Gerhard joined the Marathon Group as an Associate Consultant in 2008.
