Reinier Matthee

Reinier completed his two year articles at De Klerk and Van Gend before joining Sasko Milling and Baking as a legal advisor in 1996, assisting a number of mills and bakeries with their legal- and insurance related matters. In 1997 he joined Boland Bank (later Boland PKS and BoE Bank) as national sales- and process manager for Bancassurance.
In mid 2002 he joined the Colors group of companies, diversifying his skills into the fruit sector. Reinier initially managed the inland pack house operations as the Operational Manager before assuming responsibility as head of Human Resources as well as Training and Development functions. In 2004 he was seconded by Pointbreak to the Cape Wine Academy as Managing Director where he repositioned the business in the industry. After Pointbreak sold the business, Reinier was involved with a number of development initiatives for the Pointbreak and April 27 groups, becoming well acquainted with the challenges facing medium sized businesses in South Africa. Reinier is also a co-founder of the
Marathon Group.
